The Latcher secures April 2027 Australian theatrical release after festival horror success

An isolated house, a midwife grieving the loss of her child and a sinister presence emerging from the Australian bush. James Hunter's The Latcher explores personal trauma through psychological horror, and the filmmaker's debut is now heading toward a national theatrical release. After appearing at the Melbourne International Film Festival and London's FrightFest in August, the 80-minute feature has been acquired by Bonsai Films for Australian cinemas. The distributor has scheduled its release for April 1, 2027, giving this intimate supernatural story the chance to move beyond the festival circuit.
