The Liberation Trailer: Carrie Coon Falls Under Lily James' Spell in Guy Nattiv's Psychological Drama
A woman searching for relief from her past encounters someone who claims to understand exactly how to heal her. That is the unsettling premise of The Liberation, whose first official trailer was released by Bleecker Street on November 2, 2026. Carrie Coon stars as Rita, a Holocaust survivor who abandons her family to join a secluded spiritual commune led by Lily James' charismatic Ricki. Bella Ramsey and Odessa Young play Rita's daughters, whose attempts to bring their mother home expose them to the same powerful influence. Written and directed by Guy Nattiv, the psychological drama draws inspiration from his grandmother's real-life experience of joining a cult.
