Fire Emblem stories often unfold through overlapping loyalties, conflicts and personal histories. Fortune's Weave continues that tradition with four heroes whose journeys intersect across different periods of the world of Dagda.
Nintendo is extending that structure through an Expansion Pass that will deliver content across three separate releases, beginning in October 2026 and continuing into the following year.
Three Houses remains part of the series' vocabulary
The first DLC wave introduces prototype weapons inspired by the Hero's Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
Those relics carried significance within the earlier game's world, connecting individual characters to inherited power, political history and the institutions surrounding them.
Their appearance as inspirations for new weapons creates a recognizable connection between two installments without requiring a direct narrative crossover.
Nintendo has confirmed equipment modeled on the relics, not a shared timeline or the arrival of Three Houses characters as playable guests. Any broader connection remains an interpretation rather than an established story fact.
Divine intervention in the next chapter
The second wave is planned for winter 2026. Aurora, Smyrnos and Jurah are expected to assist players in combat during the later stages of the story.
Divine and supernatural forces have long influenced Fire Emblem's fictional conflicts. Fortune's Weave is already concerned with the threat posed by the demon god Balor, making the addition of further powerful beings a natural development of its mythological setting.
Nintendo has not yet established the complete narrative roles of these figures or whether they will introduce substantial new story sequences.
Four additional outfits for heroes and allies are also included, adding visual customization to the second wave.
The Heroic Games receive more attention in 2027
Wave 3 will introduce additional stories about Bertrand, Talimun, Orchel and Anatolia, four warriors connected to the Heroic Games.
Rather than introducing an entirely unrelated cast, the expansion is intended to revisit characters who already have a place in Fortune's Weave.
Nintendo also promises new allies and classes, suggesting that the additional narratives will be accompanied by changes to the tactical options available to players.
However, the length of the new stories, their position in the game's chronology and the full set of gameplay additions have not yet been disclosed. The third wave is scheduled for 2027 without a more precise release date.
A long-term expansion strategy
The Expansion Pass is priced at $34.99 in the United States and requires the base game. Nintendo also offers a bundle combining the original release with the additional content.
The three waves are not sold individually. Players purchasing the Pass are buying access to the complete announced program, even though much of that content remains scheduled for future dates.
This structure allows Nintendo to extend interest in a major tactical RPG over several months. It also means that players must decide whether to purchase based partly on promises about forthcoming stories and systems.
Expanding the world rather than replacing the game
Fortune's Weave follows the Promised One through a time-traveling adventure involving interconnected heroes and the struggle against Balor.
The Heroic Games and their participants provide established material for the additional stories planned in Wave 3. Exploring those perspectives could give more attention to characters outside the main narrative's central group.
The Expansion Pass is not a standalone sequel. Nintendo requires ownership of the original game and has not described the new material as a second full-length campaign.
The immediate Three Houses tribute may appeal to longtime fans, but the defining part of the expansion remains ahead. The new character stories planned for 2027 will determine how much further Fortune's Weave develops its world after the original ending.
