Four Emmy Nominations, No Raise: Holland Taylor Explains Why She Stopped Her Two and a Half Men Contract
For six seasons, Holland Taylor played Evelyn Harper, the elegant and formidable mother of Charlie and Alan on Two and a Half Men. But behind the success of the CBS sitcom, the actress says she received no salary increase despite earning four Emmy nominations. Speaking on the October 21, 2026 episode of Alchemy with Anthony Mason, she explained why she declined to renew her contract in 2009. The decision did not remove her character from the show: it allowed Taylor to return on her own terms.
