Harry Potter: HBO Casts Harry's Parents and Finally Brings Charlie Weasley to the Screen
Harry Potter is getting a new pair of parents, while the Weasley family is gaining a member that the original films barely showed. HBO announced on October 27, 2026 that Hannah Chinn will portray Lily Potter, Jasper Talbot will play James Potter and Harry Gilby has been cast as Charlie Weasley. The three actors join the upcoming television adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which premieres on Christmas Day. For longtime readers, Charlie's arrival may be the most intriguing addition: the series is giving a proper actor to a character who was largely missing from the cinematic saga.
